How Girls Talk

For those of you wondering what I do on light work days...

I filtered out all the sensitive information, so basically this entire gchat conversation will be completely out of context. But I think you'll get the point. Maybe the reason why women live longer is because laughter is cheap medicine and we just laugh more. Cry more too. But that doesn't matter. At least not for now.

Speaking of laughter- Stanley from The Office: HILARIOUS. Love that dude.

Okay, back to girl talk:

Random Thoughts from Campbell

1. Sometimes I don't realize how supportive people really are.

2. Pixar makes me super happy. They capture the images of humanity so well. I can kinda see how being a Creator of human beings can bring such joy to a wonderful Maker. Humans are really cute. Even when they are portrayed through a clown fish or slinky dog.

3. I really like songs that have major sixths in their melodic lines. Hence, my love for Bieber's Stuck In The Moment...ahahaha

4. It's fun to share about your love life...or lack thereof, with a couple. Totally takes away the awkward third wheel effect.

5. I like this Starbucks.

This is my God

Last week, I started thinking about what it'd be like to sit down with Jesus in a coffee shop, just like I would with any other friend. And I came to the conclusion that I'd feel really awkward.

Why?

Because He'd know everything about me. My deepest thoughts and fears, wildest daydreams, insecurities, brain fart moments... He'd be able to tell when my thoughts wandered and wasn't paying attention and would know everything that had happened that day. I don't know if I could just sit down and chit chat comfortably with Him at Peet's.

...but it's not supposed to be that way. Right?

Sooo today, I decided to give it a try. During my lunch break, I opened up to Romans and did my usual QT thing. Then I started to talk to Jesus as if He were sitting in the seat across from me, looking right at the seat as if there was someone in the chair.

Maybe my neighbors at Peet's thought I was crazy, staring at that empty chair for so long. But dude, it was a really cool conversation. I just talked and listened to Jesus at the table with me...as if He already knew everything.

I don't know why I pray sometimes as if He doesn't already know.

By the end of my lunch break, I told Jesus I had to wrap it up and head back to work. And you know what He told me at the end of our hangout?

"I love you."

I really needed to hear that.

Thanks, Jesus. :)

Faith

"The opposite of faith is not doubt, but fear." -Philip Yancey

Fear.

There's this one thing I've been refusing to shoot for simply because I'm scared of failing.

These past couple weeks, there's one question that I've been trying to answer:

Where is God and what does it look like for me to go where He is?

I think the answer kinda has come. And my response: "HWAT God, are you serious?!"

But y'know, thinking back on my limited experience in 23 yrs of life, the things I actually remember include that time...

1) Tom Cruise (this dude in Taiwan I met during missions) accepted Christ when I could barely share the gospel in Chinese on the first day of the trip
2) I was offered a job even though I could think of over a dozen of my own friends who were way more deserving
3) My friends forgave me
4) My family took the step of faith to move out to California to start a church plant that never happened yet we're still where we are today
5) I saw my friends transform into better people before my eyes over the course of a couple years

...all those times when I just couldn't deny God's power and love were there.

One life. Journey of faith or journey of fear. Or I guess you could live life without a journey and stay in the same place forever.

The same power that conquered the grave lives in me.
The same love that rescued the world lives in me.
