Sometimes I watch parents interact with their crying bratty little kids and it is so hard for me to believe that God would really choose to adopt whiny broken "adults" like me as His own...by giving up His perfect Son. Doesn't make sense.
But neither does faith. Christ is an absolute mystery.
It didn't hit me until today that the greatest act of faith is to believe that God loves me perfectly because of Jesus. The greatest act of faith is not going to medical school. It's not mustering up the guts to share the gospel with my coworker. Nor moving in with roommates again.
This explains a lot of why I am the way I am.
I have little faith. My heart will continue to be restless until it rests in Jesus.
